DTC P032F:  Engine Stall

If engine speed decreases or if the engine stalls after the engine speed was maintained by the generator for a given period of time, then it determined that the engine torque is not being generated. When engine torque is still not generated after trying to restart the engine for a given number of times, the powertrain control module (PCM) detects a malfunction and stores a DTC.

Sequence None
Duration 27 seconds or more (51 seconds or more)*
DTC Type One drive cycle, MIL on

*: After disconnecting the 12 volt battery.

Enable Conditions 

Condition  
State of the vehicle HV driving mode
Engine clanking mode
Other Other than a catalytic converter warm-up
During fuel injection

Malfunction Threshold 

When generator motor assists continues for 27 seconds (51 seconds)* or more.

Possible Cause 

NOTE:  The causes shown may not be a complete list of all potential problems, and it is possible that there may be other causes.

Confirmation Procedure 

Operating Condition 

Drive the vehicle for 27 seconds (51 seconds)* or more.

Diagnosis Details 

Conditions for setting the DTC 

When a malfunction is detected, the MIL comes on and a Pending DTC, a Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data are stored in the PCM memory.

Conditions for clearing the DTC 

The MIL is cleared if the malfunction does not return in three consecutive trips in which the diagnostic runs. The MIL, the Pending DTC, the Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data can be cleared with the scan tool Clear command or by disconnecting the 12 volt battery.
