Low oil pressure indicator stays on
- Engine oil level check
-1. Connect the HDS to the DLC .
-2. Check for DTCs with the HDS.
DTC Description Confirmed DTC Pending DTC DTC (PGM-FI)
-3. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-4. Check the engine oil level .
Is the engine oil level normal?
YES
Go to step 3.
NO
Add engine oil to the normal level, then go to step 2.
- Low oil pressure indicator check
-1. Enter the maintenance mode, then start the engine .
Does the low oil pressure indicator go off?
YES
Check the following items:
- Check for oil leaks.
- Check for worn valve guide(s) or worn valve seal(s) .
- Check for damaged or worn piston ring(s) .
- Check for damaged or worn engine internal parts (cylinder wall, pistons, etc.) .
NO
Go to step 3.
- Oil pressure test
-1. Do the oil pressure test .
Does the oil pressure OK?
YES
Go to step 4.
NO
Check the following items. If its does not blocked or plugged, replace the oil pump .
- Oil filter blocked or plugged.
- Oil strainer blocked or plugged.
- Determine possible failure area (gauge control module, others)
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-2. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, and check the parameter(s) below with the HDS.

YES
Go to step 6.
NO
Go to step 5.
- Gauge control module check
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-2. Jump the SCS line with the HDS, and wait more than 1 minute.
NOTE: This step must be done to protect the PCM from damage.
SCS Short
-3. Disconnect the following connector.
PCM connector E (80P) -4. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
Does the low oil pressure indicator go off?
YES
Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting, or substitute a known-good PCM , then recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away with a known-good PCM, replace the original PCM .
NO
- Engine oil pressure sensor check
-1. Check the parameter(s) below with the HDS.

Replace the engine oil pressure sensor .
NO
Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting, or substitute a known-good PCM , then recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away with a known-good PCM, replace the original PCM .
