PCM Removal and Installation: Removal: Procedure

  1. HDS - Connect
  2. READ DATA - Select
    1. Select the PGM-FI system with the HDS.

    2. Select the ECU Replacement Menu with the HDS, then select READ DATA, and follow the screen prompts.

    NOTE: 

    • Doing this step copies (READS) the data from the original PCM so you can later download (WRITES) them into the new PCM.
    • If the READ DATA indicates FAILED, continue with this procedure.
  3. SCS - Short
    1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    2. Jump the SCS line with the HDS, and wait more than 1 minute.
  4. Connector (PCM) - Disconnect
  5. Harness Clamp - Remove
  6. PCM assembly - Remove
  7. PCM - Remove
