DTC C1432-62 : Vehicle Speed and the Engine Speed Incorrect Correlation
NOTE:
- Before you troubleshoot, review the general troubleshooting information .
- VSA DTCs may set during this troubleshooting. If so, clear them.

DTC (EPS)
- Problem verification
-1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
-2. Clear the DTC with the HDS.
-3. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode, then to the READY TO DRIVE mode.
-4. Test-drive the vehicle at 12 mph (20 km/h) or more for 30 seconds or more.
NOTE: Drive the vehicle on the road, not on a lift.
-5. Check for DTCs with the HDS.
DTC Description DTC Freeze Frame C1432-62 Vehicle Speed and the Engine Speed Incorrect Correlation Is DTC C1432-62 indicated?
YES
The failure is duplicated. Go to step 2.
NO
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Refer to intermittent failures troubleshooting . If the freeze data/on-board snapshot of this DTC is recorded, try to reproduce the failure under the same conditions with the freeze data/on-board snapshot.
- Vehicle speed signal check
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-2. Raise and support the vehicle , and allow all wheels to rotate freely.
-3. Turn the vehicle to the READY TO DRIVE mode.
-4. Turn off the VSA function by using the VSA OFF switch.
-5. Run the vehicle while in the D position/mode.
-6. Check the parameter(s) below with the HDS.
Signal Current conditions Values Unit VEHICLE SPEED Is 0 mph (0 km/h) indicated?
YES
Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting or substitute a known-good PCM , then recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away with a known-good PCM, replace the original PCM .
NO
Check for loose terminals and poor connections at the EPS control unit connectors. Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting or substitute a known-good EPS motor/control unit , then recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away with a known-good EPS motor/control unit, replace the original EPS motor/control unit .
