Rear Differential Removal and Installation: Installation: Procedure

Numbered call-outs in figure pertain to list numbers in following procedure.

	Torque: N.m (kgf.m, lbf.ft)
	Replace

Rear Differential Front Mount - Install
Rear Differential Assembly - Install
NOTE: Place the rear differential assembly on a transmission jack, and raise it to the inboard joints installation position.

Rear Driveshaft Inboard Side - Connect

1. Install a new driveshaft inboard joint set ring (A) on both sides.

2. Lift the rear differential assembly (A) up into position.

3. Insert the inboard joint (B) of the rear driveshafts (C) into the rear differential (D) until the set ring (E) locks in the groove (F).

NOTE: Insert the driveshaft horizontally to prevent damaging the oil seals (G).

Rear Differential Mounting Bolt - Install

1. Loosely install the rear differential mounting bolts (A).

2. Remove the transmission jack.

3. Tighten the rear differential mounting bolts in the numbered sequence shown.

Connectors (Rear Differential Subharness) - Connect

1. Install the harness clip (A).

2. Connect the connectors (B).

3. Install the cover (C).

Breather Hose - Connect
No. 2 Propeller Shaft - Connect
Muffler - Install
Rear Differential Fluid - Refill
AWD System - Air Bleed
Test Drive - Check

1. Test drive and check that there are no abnormal noise and vibration.
