DTC C1260-7A  : Brake Fluid Leak or Seal Failure in Pedal Feel Simulator

NOTE: 

• Before you troubleshoot, review the general troubleshooting information .
• The DTCs may be indicated under these conditions:
• • -

    Bleed the brake system .

  • -

    Replace the brake fluid .

  • -

    Air trapped in the brake system.

DTC (Electric servo brake)

1. Problem verification 1

   -1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

   -2. Clear the DTC with the HDS.

   -3. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode, then to the READY TO DRIVE mode.

   -4. Press the brake pedal hard.

   -5. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

   C1260-7A Brake Fluid Leak or Seal Failure in Pedal Feel Simulator

   Is DTC C1260-7A indicated?

   YES 

   The failure is duplicated. Go to step 3.

   NO 

   Go to step 2.

2. Problem verification 2

   -1. Press the brake pedal slowly and fully, then hold it.

   -2. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

   C1260-7A Brake Fluid Leak or Seal Failure in Pedal Feel Simulator

   Is DTC C1260-7A indicated?

   YES 

   The failure is duplicated. Go to step 3.

   NO 

   Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time . Check for brake fluid leakage at the pedal feel simulator and the VSA modulator-control unit, tandem motor cylinder, hose and line joints . If the freeze data/on-board snapshot of this DTC is recorded, try to reproduce the failure under the same conditions with the freeze data/on-board snapshot.

3. Pedal feel simulator check

   -1. Bleed the brake system .

   -2. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

   -3. Clear the DTC with the HDS.

   -4. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode, then to the READY TO DRIVE mode.

   -5. Press the brake pedal hard.

   -6. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

   Is DTC C1260-7A indicated?

   YES 

   Check for loose terminals and poor connections in the electric servo brake control unit 22P connector. Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting. If they are OK, replace the electric servo brake control unit/pedal feel simulator .

   NO 

   Go to step 4.

4. DTC check

   -1. Press the brake pedal slowly and fully, then hold it.

   -2. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

   C1260-7A Brake Fluid Leak or Seal Failure in Pedal Feel Simulator

   Is DTC C1260-7A indicated?

   YES 

   Check for loose terminals and poor connections in the electric servo brake control unit 22P connector. Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting. If they are OK, replace the electric servo brake control unit/pedal feel simulator .

   NO 

   Troubleshooting is complete.
