DTC P1D97: Generator Motor Phase Current Sensors Multiple Failure
General Description
The power control unit (PCU) controls the generator motor output based on the generator phase current sensor signals. If a failure in the current sensor or sensor power supply is detected in two phases or more, it is determined more than one failure occurs and the PCU detects a malfunction and stores a DTC.

Malfunction Threshold
If a failure in the following current sensor is detected in two phases or more or in three-phase sum failure +1 phase or more.
- The motor control module detects a U phase malfunction.
- The motor control module detects a V phase malfunction.
- The motor control module detects a W phase malfunction.
- The motor control module detects a U, V and W phases malfunction.

Diagnosis Details
Conditions for setting the DTC
When a malfunction is detected, the MIL comes on and a Pending DTC, a Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data are stored in the motor control module memory.
Conditions for clearing the DTC
The MIL is cleared if the malfunction does not return in three consecutive trips in which the diagnostic runs. The MIL, the Pending DTC, the Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data can be cleared with the scan tool Clear command.
