DTC P1D93:  PCU Coolant Over Temperature

General Description

GHH381837Courtesy of HONDA, U.S.A., INC.

To control the temperature of power control unit (PCU) coolant, while monitoring the coolant temperature and the temperature of each part, the PCU drives the PCU electric coolant pump and sends a drive request to the radiator fan control (RFC) unit. If the coolant temperature is extraordinarily high although the PCU provides the PCU electric coolant pump and RFC unit with an adequate command, the PCU detects a malfunction and stores a DTC.

Execution Continuous
Sequence None

Diagnosis Details

Conditions for setting the DTC

When a malfunction is detected during the first drive cycle, a Pending DTC is stored in the motor control module memory. If the malfunction returns in the next (second) drive cycle, the POWER SYSTEM indicator comes on and a Confirmed DTC and the freeze data are stored. The MIL does not come on.

Conditions for clearing the DTC

The POWER SYSTEM indicator is cleared if the malfunction does not return in the next trip in which the diagnostic runs. The POWER SYSTEM indicator, the Pending DTC, the Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data can be cleared with the scan tool Clear command.
