DTC P1D85: Traction Motor Inverter Malfunction Signal Low (Traction Motor Control Module Detected)
General Description
Symptom 1
When an overcurrent (short circuit current) passes through the IGBT at the traction motor side, the power control unit (PCU) detects a trouble (SC) with the GDIC function and, at the same time when outputting a failure information (SC) to the motor control module, blocks a gate signal. If it is detected for the specified time that the SC signal is unmatched with the CAN information (TRC FO) from the power drive unit (PDU) (SC side: Abnormal, TRC FO side: Normal), the motor control module in the PCU detects a malfunction and stores a DTC.
Symptom 2
When a trouble with the power supply which drives the IGBT at the traction motor side occurs, the PCU detects a trouble (F15V) with the GDIC function and, at the same time when outputting a failure information (F15V) to the motor control module, blocks a gate signal. If it is detected for the specified time that the F15V signal is unmatched with the CAN information (TRC FO) from the PDU (F15V side: Abnormal, TRC FO side: Normal), the motor control module in the PCU detects a malfunction and stores a DTC.

Malfunction Threshold
One of these symptoms occurs:
Symptom 1
- If a wiring trouble inside the SC (where an SC signal is detected and the CAN information from the PDU (TRC FO) is normal) continues for at least 90 milliseconds.
Symptom 2
- If a wiring trouble inside the F15V (where an F15V signal is detected and the CAN information from the PDU (TRC FO) is normal) continues for at least 90 milliseconds.

Diagnosis Details
Conditions for setting the DTC
When a malfunction is detected, the MIL comes on and a Pending DTC, a Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data are stored in the motor control module memory.
Conditions for clearing the DTC
The MIL is cleared if the malfunction does not return in three consecutive trips in which the diagnostic runs. The MIL, the Pending DTC, the Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data can be cleared with the scan tool Clear command.
