DTC P1D18
DTC P1D18: Traction Motor Temperature Sense Failure
General Description
The power control unit (PCU) monitors the IGBT chip temperature sensor value to prevent malfunction of the chip due to heat generation. The PCU detects the IGBT chip temperature sensor at the traction motor side by selecting a parallel phase temperature using the selector. If a selection signal is not switched for the specified time, the motor control module in the PCU detects a malfunction and stores a DTC.

Diagnosis Details
Conditions for setting the DTC
When a malfunction is detected, the MIL comes on and a Pending DTC, a Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data are stored in the motor control module memory.
Conditions for clearing the DTC
The MIL is cleared if the malfunction does not return in three consecutive trips in which the diagnostic runs. The MIL, the Pending DTC, the Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data can be cleared with the scan tool Clear command.
