DTC P0CF0: PCU Coolant Temperature Sensor Circuit Low
General Description
The power control unit (PCU) monitors the PCU coolant temperature sensor value to prevent malfunction of internal parts due to heat generation. If the PCU coolant temperature sensor output temperature is out of a specified value for a specified time, the motor control module in the PCU detects a malfunction and stores a DTC.

Malfunction Threshold
The output voltage from the PCU coolant temperature sensor [Radiator Water Temperature Sensor Voltage (TRC)] is less than 0.08 V for at least 2.0 seconds.

Possible Cause

- PCU coolant temperature sensor TWPCU line short to ground
- PCU coolant temperature sensor failure
- PCU internal failure
Diagnosis Details
Conditions for setting the DTC
When a malfunction is detected during the first drive cycle, a Pending DTC is stored in the motor control module memory. If the malfunction returns in the next (second) drive cycle, the POWER SYSTEM indicator comes on and a Confirmed DTC and the freeze data are stored. The MIL does not come on.
Conditions for clearing the DTC
The POWER SYSTEM indicator is cleared if the malfunction does not return in the next trip in which the diagnostic runs. The POWER SYSTEM indicator, the Pending DTC, the Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data can be cleared with the scan tool Clear command.
