DTC P0CEE:  PCU Coolant Temperature Sensor Circuit

General Description

To control the temperature of power control unit (PCU) coolant, while monitoring the coolant temperature and the temperature of each part, the PCU drives the PCU electric coolant pump and sends a drive request to the radiator fan. Since the coolant temperature and the reactor temperature become nearly identical immediately after the engine is started when it is sufficiently cooled down, the motor control module in the PCU detects a malfunction and stores a DTC when the difference between the coolant temperature and the reactor temperature is equal to or more than the prescribed value continuously for the prescribed time or more.

Traction motor absolute torque value - 0.2 N*m (0.02 kgf*m, 0.14 Ibf*ft)
Generator motor absolute torque value - 0.2 N*m (0.02 kgf*m, 0.14 Ibf*ft)

Malfunction Threshold 

The difference between the reactor temperature and the coolant temperature is more than 81 deg.F (45 deg.C).

NOTE:  The causes shown may not be a complete list of all potential problems, and it is possible that there may be other causes.

Diagnosis Details 

Conditions for setting the DTC 

When a malfunction is detected during the first drive cycle, a Pending DTC is stored in the motor control module memory. If the malfunction returns in the next (second) drive cycle, the POWER SYSTEM indicator comes on and a Confirmed DTC and the freeze data are stored. The MIL does not come on.

Conditions for clearing the DTC 

The POWER SYSTEM indicator is cleared if the malfunction does not return in the next trip in which the diagnostic runs. The POWER SYSTEM indicator, the Pending DTC, the Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data can be cleared with the scan tool Clear command.
