DTC P0C3B: DC-DC Converter Temperature Sensor High
General Description
The power control unit (PCU) monitors the back-up power supply temperature sensor value to prevent malfunction of internal parts due to heat generation. If the back-up power supply temperature sensor output voltage is a specified voltage for a specified time, the motor control module in the PCU detects a malfunction and stores a DTC.

Malfunction Threshold
The back-up power supply temperature sensor output voltage is more than 4.84 V for at least 300 milliseconds.

Diagnosis Details
Conditions for setting the DTC
When a malfunction is detected during the first drive cycle, a Pending DTC is stored in the motor control module memory. If the malfunction returns in the next (second) drive cycle, the POWER SYSTEM indicator comes on and a Confirmed DTC and the freeze data are stored. The MIL does not come on.
Conditions for clearing the DTC
The POWER SYSTEM indicator is cleared if the malfunction does not return in the next trip in which the diagnostic runs. The POWER SYSTEM indicator, the Pending DTC, the Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data can be cleared with the scan tool Clear command.
