DTC P0A4B:  Generator Motor Rotor Position Sensor Circuit

General Description

The power control unit (PCU) detects the generator motor rotor position by the R/D converter based on the generator motor motor rotor position sensor signals. If the tracking loop abnormal bit detection counter exceeds a specified time, the motor control module in the PCU detects a malfunction and stores a DTC.

Malfunction Threshold 

R/D converter tracking loop abnormal bit is as 1 for at least 310 milliseconds.

Diagnosis Details 

Conditions for setting the DTC 

When a malfunction is detected, the MIL comes on and a Pending DTC, a Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data are stored in the motor control module memory.

Conditions for clearing the DTC 

The MIL is cleared if the malfunction does not return in three consecutive trips in which the diagnostic runs. The MIL, the Pending DTC, the Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data can be cleared with the scan tool Clear command.
