DTC P262B: Battery Condition Monitor Module Timer
General Description
The CPU in the battery condition monitor module has built in power off timer that measures the duration from electric powertrain system off to the next vehicle ON mode. The CPU accesses to the power off timer when reading the measured duration. If the access process fails or an abnormality is found in the read data, the battery condition monitor module detects a malfunction and stores a DTC. Even if the access is normally performed, the battery condition monitor module stores a DTC when the measured duration accuracy of the power off timer is out of normal range.

Malfunction Threshold
One of these conditions is occurs:
- The access process to the power off timer fails.
- The malfunction is found in the read data.
- When the difference between the CPU and the power off timer measurement time is 50 % or more continuously for three times.*
*: Power off timer measurement updates once per minute.

Diagnosis Details
Conditions for setting the DTC
When a malfunction is detected, the MIL comes on and a Pending DTC, a Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data are stored in the battery condition monitor module memory.
Conditions for clearing the DTC
The MIL is cleared if the malfunction does not return in three consecutive trips in which the diagnostic runs. The MIL, the Pending DTC, the Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data can be cleared with the scan tool clear command.
