DTC P1D64:  Collision Detection Signal Circuit

General Description

The battery condition monitor module receives pulse signals of crash cutoff information from the SRS unit. If the battery condition monitor module does not receive pulse signals from the SRS unit, the battery condition monitor module detects a malfunction and stores a DTC.

Monitor Execution, Sequence, Duration, DTC Type 

Execution Continuous
Sequence None
Duration 5.5 seconds or more
DTC Type One drive cycle, MIL off, POWER SYSTEM indicator on, 12 VOLT CHARGING SYSTEM indicator off

Enable Conditions 

Condition Minimum Maximum
Elapsed time since the 12 volt battery voltage reaches to a specified value after the vehicle condition is turned to the ON mode 50 milliseconds -
12 volt battery voltage 9.7 V -

Malfunction Threshold 

The battery condition monitor module does not receive pulse signals from the SRS unit for at least 5.5 seconds.

NOTE:  The causes shown may not be a complete list of all potential problems, and it is possible that there may be other causes.

Diagnosis Details 

Conditions for setting the DTC 

When a malfunction is detected, the POWER SYSTEM indicator comes on and a Pending DTC, a Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data are stored in the battery condition monitor module memory. The MIL does not come on.

Conditions for clearing the DTC 

The POWER SYSTEM indicator is cleared if the malfunction does not return in the next trip in which the diagnostic runs. The POWER SYSTEM indicator, the Pending DTC, the Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data can be cleared with the scan tool clear command.
