DTC P1598: HV Battery Current Sensor 2 Circuit Range/Performance
General Description
The battery condition monitor module calculates the offset value of the battery current sensor during no voltage condition of the battery pack immediately after the vehicle condition is turned to the ON mode. The battery condition monitor module converts (A/D conversion) the ISOCF signal input voltage and when the difference between the maximum value and the minimum value of eight continuous inputs are within 0.04 V, the average value of eight battery current sensor inputs are calculated. When the battery current sensor average value is out of a specified range or the calculated current difference between ISOC signal and ISOCF signal deviates from a specified range for a set time, a malfunction is detected and a DTC is stored.

Malfunction Threshold
The average signal voltage of 8 time acquired are within 0.04 V and the average value of the battery current sensor input deviates from the range of 2.24 V to 2.76 V.

Diagnosis Details
Conditions for setting the DTC
When a malfunction is detected during the first drive cycle, a Pending DTC is stored in the battery condition monitor module memory. If the malfunction returns in the next (second) drive cycle, the MIL comes on and a Confirmed DTC and the freeze data are stored.
Conditions for clearing the DTC
The MIL is cleared if the malfunction does not return in three consecutive trips in which the diagnostic runs. The MIL, the Pending DTC, the Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data can be cleared with the scan tool clear command.
