DTC P0DA8:  HV Battery Voltage/Motor Inverter Voltage Correlation

General Description

GHH375121Courtesy of HONDA, U.S.A., INC.

The battery condition monitor module compares inverter voltage information and battery pack voltage information obtained from the battery voltage cell voltage sensor. If the difference between the battery pack voltage and the inverter voltage is a specified value and continues for a specified duration, the battery condition monitor module detects a malfunction and stores a DTC.

Monitor Execution, Sequence, Duration, DTC Type

Execution Continuous
Sequence None
Duration 2 seconds or more
DTC Type One drive cycle, MIL off, POWER SYSTEM indicator on, 12 VOLT CHARGING SYSTEM indicator on

Enable Conditions

Condition Minimum Maximum
Battery condition monitor module power-supply voltage 10.2 V -
Difference between inverter voltage and electric A/C compressor voltage 26 V -
Vehicle ON mode

Malfunction Threshold

The difference between the battery pack voltage and the MPI module voltage is more than 50 V and continues for at least 2 seconds.

Possible Cause

NOTE:  The causes shown may not be a complete list of all potential problems, and it is possible that there may be other causes.

Diagnosis Details

Conditions for setting the DTC

When a malfunction is detected, a Pending DTC, a Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data are stored in the battery condition monitor module memory. The MIL does not come on.

Conditions for clearing the DTC

The Pending DTC, the Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data can be cleared with the scan tool clear command or the battery condition monitor module reset.
