DTC P0B40: HV Battery Cell Voltage Sense Circuit 2

The CPU and a LIB-IC are built into the battery condition monitor module and the CPU detects various malfunctions. The CPU transmits/receives information to/from the LIB-IC by using communication line. When the CPU detects the failures of the LIB-IC or the battery pack for a set time, a malfunction is detected and stores a DTC.

Malfunction Threshold

Any of the condition is met for at least 8 seconds:

Clock monitor of CPU in the battery condition monitor module failure
CRC monitor of CPU in the battery condition monitor module failure
Timer monitor of CPU in the battery condition monitor module failure
Battery pack voltage monitor failure

Battery pack line failure
Battery pack internal failure
Battery condition monitor module internal circuit failure

Diagnosis Details

Conditions for setting the DTC

When a malfunction is detected, the MIL comes on and a Pending DTC, a Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data are stored in the battery condition monitor module memory.

Conditions for clearing the DTC

The MIL is cleared if the malfunction does not return in three consecutive trips in which the diagnostic runs. The MIL, the Pending DTC, the Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data can be cleared with the scan tool clear command.
