DTC P0ACB: HV Battery Temperature Sensor 3 Circuit Range/Performance
General Description
The temperatures between the battery modules are kept approximately equal if the high voltage battery module fan, the high voltage battery module temperature sensors, the battery pack, and the inverter, etc. are operating normal. The high voltage battery module temperature sensors are compared to detect characteristic abnormality of themselves. If the temperature difference between high voltage battery module temperature sensor 3 and the average of other high voltage battery module temperature sensors is a specified value, the battery condition monitor module detects a malfunction and stores a DTC.

Malfunction Threshold
- If the vehicle is in Condition 1
The temperature difference between high voltage battery module temperature sensor 3 and the average of other high voltage battery module temperature sensors is 61 deg.F (16 deg.C) or more.
- If the vehicle is in Condition 2
The temperature difference between high voltage battery module temperature sensor 3 and the average of other high voltage battery module temperature sensors is 65 deg.F (18 deg.C) or more.
Possible Cause
NOTE: The causes shown may not be a complete list of all potential problems, and it is possible that there may be other causes.
- Cooling fan air duct blocked or fell off
- Battery pack internal circuit failure
Diagnosis Details
Conditions for setting the DTC
When a malfunction is detected during the first drive cycle, a Pending DTC is stored in the battery condition monitor module memory. If the malfunction returns in the next (second) drive cycle, the MIL comes on and a Confirmed DTC and the freeze data are stored.
Conditions for clearing the DTC
The MIL is cleared if the malfunction does not return in three consecutive trips in which the diagnostic runs. The MIL, the Pending DTC, the Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data can be cleared with the scan tool clear command or the battery condition monitor module reset.
