Removal and Installation

NOTE: 

• How to read the torque specifications .
• Refer to the Exploded View as needed during the following procedures.
• Check for deterioration and damage to each part during removal.

Knuckle/Hub 

1. Vehicle - Lift
2. Front Wheel - Remove
3. Front Wheel Speed Sensor - Remove

   NOTE:  Do not disconnect the wheel speed sensor connector.

4. Brake Hose Bracket - Remove

5. Brake Caliper - Remove

   1. Remove the caliper assembly without disconnecting the brake hose from the caliper body . NOTE:  To prevent damage to the caliper assembly or brake hose, use a short piece of wire to hang the caliper assembly from the undercarriage. Do not twist the brake hose excessively.

6. Front Spindle Nut - Remove
7. Front Brake Disc - Remove
8. Hub for Damage and Cracks - Check
9. Tie-Rod End Ball Joint - Disconnect
10. Lower Arm Ball Joint - Remove
11. Knuckle/Hub Assembly - Remove

    1. Remove the damper pinch bolt (A). 2. Move the knuckle (B) downward, and remove the knuckle from the damper. NOTE:  Do not pull the driveshaft end outward. The inner driveshaft inboard joint may come apart. During installation, note these items. Install the aligning tab (C) on the damper unit into the slot (D) of the knuckle. Apply specified grease to the contact area (E) of the outboard joint and the front wheel bearing .

12. All Removed Parts - Install

    1. Install all removed parts in the reverse order of removal.

13. Wheel Alignment - Check
