- Before you troubleshoot, review the general troubleshooting information .
- Because it requires 143 miles (230 km) of driving without refueling to complete this diagnosis, DTC P0461 cannot be duplicated during this troubleshooting.

-1. Test the fuel gauge sending unit .
Is the fuel gauge sending unit OK?
YES
Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the fuel gauge sending unit and the gauge control module. If the on-board snapshot of this DTC is recorded, try to reproduce the failure under the same conditions with the on-board snapshot .
