Fuel Pressure Relieving: Procedure

WARNING: 

Flammable - Keep Fire Away

NOTE: 

• Refer to the Fuel and Emissions Systems Service Precautions  before disconnecting the fuel line.
• Fuel may cause flammable gas leaks and may result in fire. Keep sparks, flame and cigarettes away.
• Before disconnecting fuel lines or hoses, relieve pressure from the system by disabling the fuel pump and disconnecting the fuel line/quick connect fitting in the engine compartment.

1. Fuel Tank Pressure - Relieve

   1. Remove the emergency fuel funnel (A).

   2. Insert the emergency fuel funnel (A) into the fuel filler neck to relieve the pressure in the fuel tank.

2. Fuel Pressure - Relieve

   1. Remove PGM-FI main relay 2 . 2. Enter the maintenance mode and start the engine . Then let it idle until it stalls. NOTE:  If any DTCs are stored, clear and ignore them. 3. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode. 4. Install PGM-FI main relay 2.

3. 12 Volt Battery Terminal - Disconnect
