Probable cause(s)
- Traction motor position sensor defective
- Traction motor position sensor line failure
- Transmission fluid temperature sensor defective
- Traction motor sensor harness failure
- Traction motor position sensor failed to install
- Generator motor position sensor defective
- Generator motor position sensor line failure
- Generator motor position sensor failed to install
- Shift solenoid valve A defective
- Shift solenoid valve B defective
- Transmission fluid pressure sensor defective
- Engine output low
- Low ATF level
- ATF pump worn or binding
- Main regulator valve stuck or spring worn
- Foreign material in separator plate orifice
- Shift valve A defective
- Shift valve B defective
- Input shaft worn or damaged
- Over drive gears worn or damaged
- Clutch defective
- Clearance between clutch end-plate and top disc incorrect
- Torque limiter defective
NOTE:
- Check the engine control system.
- Inspect the shift solenoid valve function with the HDS. Check for a seized shift solenoid valve, and inspect the O-rings.
- Check the motor position sensor harness for poor connections, loose terminals, wear, and damage.
- Check the ATF level. If the level is below the lower level, check the ATF cooler lines for leaks and loose connections. If necessary, clean the ATF cooler lines.
- Check the ATF pump drive gears for wear and damage.
- Replace the valve body assembly .
- Inspect the input shaft for wear and damage.
- Check the over drive gears for wear and damage.
- Check for a clogged orifice in the separator plate. If the orifice is clogged, remove it and clean the separator plate orifice.
- Inspect the motor shaft for wear and damage.
- Inspect the generator shaft for wear and damage.
- Inspect the countershaft for wear and damage.
- Inspect the clearance between the clutch end-plate and the top disc. If the clearance is out of tolerance, replace the clutch.
- Check the transmission fluid pressure sensor.
- Replace the transmission (e-CVT) .
