Gear System Description - Power Flow

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

P and N Positions/Modes

The traction motor does not rotate; motor power is not transmitted to the countershaft. When the battery module SOC value is low, the engine will run. Engine power transmitted from the flywheel drives the input shaft and generator shaft, but the hydraulic pressure is not applied to the over drive clutch. Power is transmitted from the engine to the generator motor. In P, the motor shaft is locked by the parking brake pawl interlocking the parking gear on the motor shaft.
