Gear System Description - Hydraulic Controls

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

The valve body assembly includes the regulator valve body and the shift valve body. The regulator valve body contains ATF pumps A and B. ATF pump A is driven by ATF pump drive shaft A which the engine turns. ATF pump drive shaft A is connected to the input shaft which is driven by the engine via the flywheel. Fluid from ATF pump A flows through the main regulator valve to maintain specified pressure through the regulator valve body, directing pressure to each of the shafts, to the motors, and to the over drive clutch. ATF pump B is driven by ATF pump drive shaft B which the differential turns. ATF pump drive shaft B is connected to the final driven gear. Fluid from ATF pump B flows through each of the shafts and the motors. Shift solenoid valves A and B are mounted on the outside of the flywheel housing. Transmission fluid pressure sensor is mounted on the outside of the transmission housing.
