DTC B1028 : Rear wiper motor (park) signal error
NOTE:
- If you are troubleshooting multiple DTCs, be sure to follow the instructions in B-CAN System Diagnosis Test Mode A .
- Before troubleshooting, make sure the fuses and relays associated with the system is OK.

DTC (Body Control Module)
- Problem verification
-1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.
-2. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode and then the ON mode.
-3. Turn the rear window wiper switch to INT for 15 seconds or more, then turn the switch OFF.
-4. Check for DTCs with the HDS.
DTC Description DTC B1028 Rear wiper motor (park) signal error Is DTC B1028 indicated?
YES
Go to step 2.
NO
Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections.
- Open wire check (IG1_HAC line)
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-2. Disconnect the following connector.
Rear window wiper motor 3P connector -3. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
-4. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle ON mode
Rear window wiper motor 3P connector: disconnectedTest point 1 Rear window wiper motor 3P connector (female terminals) No. 1: Test point 2 Body ground Is there battery voltage?
YES
The IG1_HAC wire is OK. Go to step 3.
NO
Repair an open or high resistance in the wire.
- Rear window wiper motor check
-1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
-2. Do the rear window wiper motor test .
Does the wiper motor run and does it pulse normally?
YES
Go to step 4.
NO
- Shorted wire check (RR_WIPER_MTR line to power)
-1. Disconnect the following connector.
Body control module connector A (14P) -2. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
Rear window wiper motor 3P connector: disconnected
Body control module connector A (14P): disconnectedTest point 1 Rear window wiper motor 3P connector (female terminals) No. 3: Test point 2 Body ground Is there battery voltage?
YES
Repair a short to power in the wire to power.
NO
The RR_WIPER_MTR wire is not shorted to power. Go to step 5
- Shorted wire check (RR_WIPER_MTR line)
-1. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
Rear window wiper motor 3P connector: disconnected
Body control module connector A (14P): disconnectedTest point 1 Rear window wiper motor 3P connector (female terminals) No. 3: Test point 2 Body ground Is there 1.0 MΩ or more?
YES
The RR_WIPER_MTR wire is not shorted. Go to step 6.
NO
Repair a short to ground in the wire.
- Open wire check (RR_WIPER_MTR line)
-1. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
Rear window wiper motor 3P connector: disconnected
Body control module connector A (14P): disconnectedTest point 1 Body control module connector A (14P) No. 7 Test point 2 Rear window wiper motor 3P connector (female terminals) No. 3: Is there 1.0 Ω or less?
YES
The RR_WIPER_MTR wire is OK. Go to step 7.
NO
Repair an open or high resistance in the wire.
- Open wire check (GND line)
-1. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.
Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
Rear window wiper motor 3P connector: disconnected
Body control module connector A (14P): disconnectedTest point 1 Body control module connector A (14P) No. 6 Test point 2 Body ground Is there 1.0 Ω or less?
YES
The GND wire is OK. Replace the body control module .
NO
Repair an open or high resistance in the ground wire or poor ground (G401).
