Steering Column Removal and Installation: Installation: Procedure

- Steering Column - Install
1. Install the steering column (A). NOTE: Be careful not to damage the brake pedal position switch.
2. Loosely install the attaching nuts (B) and bolts (C).
3. Tighten the attaching nuts and bolts to the specified torque in the numbered sequence shown.
- Steering Joint - Connect
- Combination Switch Body Assembly - Install

1. Install the combination switch body assembly (A).
NOTE: Tighten the screws in the numbered sequence shown. - Column Cover - Install
- Driver's Dashboard Lower Cover - Install
- Driver's Dashboard Undercover - Install
- Steering Wheel - Install
- Driver's Airbag - Install
- 12 Volt Battery Terminal - Connect
- Steering - Check
1. After installation, check these items: - Check the tilt mechanism and the telescopic mechanism for movement and damage.
- With the front wheels straight ahead, make sure the steering wheel is centered and the turning revolutions from center to full lock (left and right) is equal. If not, check the installation of the steering wheel and the engagement of the joint/pinion shaft splines.
- Wheel Alignment - Check
- VSA Sensor Neutral Position - Memorize
