Removal and Installation: Procedure

Numbered call-outs in figure pertain to list numbers in following procedure.

Torque: N.m (kgf.m, lbf.ft)
Replace
  1. PCM - Remove
  2. 12 Volt Battery Terminals - Disconnect 

    Note for installation 

    Do reconnection procedure after reconnecting the 12 volt battery terminal.

  3. Upper Cover - Remove
  4. Relay Circuit Board - Remove
  5. Relay Control Module - Remove
  6. Cables - Disconnect
  7. Under-Hood Fuse/Relay Box - Remove
  8. Fuse Blocks - Remove
  9. Bottom Covers - Remove
  10. Relays - Remove
    1. Carefully remove the relays using the relay puller tool.
    NOTE:  Do not use pliers. Pliers will damage the relays, which could cause the engine to stall, not start, or cause other functions to fail.
  11. All Removed Parts - Install
    1. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
  12. 12 Volt Battery - After the Installation Procedure
