Resetting the Power Tailgate Control Unit: Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

NOTE:  If the 12 volt battery terminal is disconnected or the No. A18 fuse is removed while the power tailgate is operating, the power tailgate will not be able to open or close automatically until it is reset.

  1. Power Tailgate Control Unit - Reset
    1. The vehicle is in the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    2. Turn off the power by the power tailgate control unit in one of the following ways.

    3. Manually close the tailgate.

    4. Reconnect the negative battery terminal or reinsert the removed fuse.

    5. Make sure that the power tailgate operates correctly.
