Wipers/Washers System Description - Components
Wiper/Washer Switch
The wiper/washer switch inputs the switch status to the body control module. A backup of the windshield wiper control unit/motor is performed via the body control module at the during LO or HI switch operation in case an abnormality of the wiper/washer switch or the input of the LO and HI line is detected by LIN.
Automatic Lighting/Rain Sensor (With Automatic Wiper)
The auto wiper signal or the auto wiper fail signal is sent via B-CAN to the body control module.
Rear Window Wiper Motor
The rear window wiper motor is controlled by the body control module. When the motor temperature becomes high because of an overload etc., the motor is stopped temporarily by its circuit breaker, interrupting the circuit.
Washer Motor
The relay control module controls the washer motor with the signal inputs from the washer switch. The integral washer motor uses the differential pressure valves and washing can be switched between the windshield and rear window according to the rotating direction.
