DTC B00B5-11, B00B5-2B

DTC B00B5-11  : Short or Decreased Resistance in the Driver's Seat Position Sensor

DTC B00B5-2B  : Short to Another Wire Harness in the Driver's Seat Position Sensor

NOTE:

B00B5-11 Short or decreased resistance in the driver's seat position sensor  
B00B5-2B Short to another wire harness in the driver's seat position sensor  

DTC (SRS)

  1. Problem verification

    -1. Raise the driver's seat all the way up, and position all the way rearward.

    -2. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.

    -3. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, then wait for 10 seconds.

    -4. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

    B00B5-11 Short or decreased resistance in the driver's seat position sensor  
    B00B5-2B Short to another wire harness in the driver's seat position sensor  

    Is DTC B00B5-11 or DTC B00B5-2B indicated?

    YES 

    The failure is duplicated. Go to step 2.

    NO 

    Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Go to Troubleshooting Intermittent Failures. If another DTC is indicated, troubleshoot the DTC.

  2. Driver's seat position sensor check

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -2. Disconnect the following connector.

    Driver's seat position sensor 2P connector (on the driver's seat wire harness)

    -3. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.

    -4. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, then wait for 10 seconds.

    -5. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

    B00B5-11 Short or decreased resistance in the driver's seat position sensor  
    B00B5-2B Short to another wire harness in the driver's seat position sensor  

    Is DTC B00B5-11 or DTC B00B5-2B indicated?

    YES 

    Go to step 3.

    NO 

    Replace the driver's seat position sensor , then clear the DTC.

  3. Shorted wire check (SS+/SS+ SPS line)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -2. Disconnect the negative cable from the 12 volt battery, then wait at least 3 minutes.

    -3. Disconnect the following connector.

    SRS unit connector B (39P)

    -4. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
    Driver's seat position sensor 2P connector (on the driver's seat wire harness): disconnected
    SRS unit connector B (39P): disconnected
    Test point 1 SRS unit connector B (39P) No. 11
    Test point 2 Body ground

    Is there an open circuit, or at least 1 MΩ?

    YES 

    The SS+/SS+ SPS wire is OK. Replace the driver's seat position sensor , then clear the DTC, and retest. If the DTC is still present, check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting or replace the SRS unit .

    NO 

    Short to ground in the floor wire harness or the driver's seat wire harness; replace the faulty harness, then clear the DTC.
