DTC B1390

DTC B1390  : Power Tailgate Closer Motor circuit malfunction

NOTE: 

DTC Description DTC
B1390 Power Tailgate Closer Motor circuit malfunction  

DTC (Power Tailgate Control Unit)

  1. Problem verification

    -1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS.

    -2. With the tailgate closed, press the tailgate outer handle switch and wait for 10 seconds.

    -3. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

    B1390 Power Tailgate Closer Motor circuit malfunction  

    Is DTC B1390 indicated?

    YES 

    Go to step 2.

    NO 

    Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections.

  2. DTC check

    -1. Check for power tailgate system DTCs with the HDS.

    DTC Description DTC
       

    Are any DTCs indicated?

    YES 

    Go to the indicated DTCs troubleshooting, then recheck.

    NO 

    Go to step 3.

  3. Open wire check (PTG/PTL_CLM+ line)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -2. Disconnect the following connectors.

    Power tailgate closer unit connector A (2P)
    Power tailgate control unit connector B (10P)

    -3. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
    Power tailgate closer unit connector A (2P): disconnected
    Power tailgate control unit connector B (10P): disconnected
    Test point 1 Power tailgate closer unit connector A (2P) (female terminals) No. 2:
    Test point 2 Power tailgate control unit connector B (10P) No. 2

    Is there 1.0 Ω or less?

    YES 

    The PTG/PTL_CLM+ wire is OK. Go to step 4.

    NO 

    Repair an open or high resistance in the wire.

  4. Open wire check (PTG/PTL_CLM- line)

    -1. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
    Power tailgate closer unit connector A (2P): disconnected
    Power tailgate control unit connector B (10P): disconnected
    Test point 1 Power tailgate closer unit connector A (2P) (female terminals) No. 1:
    Test point 2 Power tailgate control unit connector B (10P) No. 6

    Is there 1.0 Ω or less?

    YES 

    Faulty closer motor; replace the power tailgate closer unit .

    NO 

    Repair an open or high resistance in the wire.
