DTC P2074 (1.5 L Engine)

DTC P2074  : MAP Sensor Signal Lower Than Expected

NOTE:  Before you troubleshoot, review the general troubleshooting information .

P2074 MAP Sensor Signal Lower Than Expected    

DTC (PGM-FI)

  1. MAP sensor performance check 1

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    -2. Compare the value of the parameter (s) below with the HDS.

    TC Boost Pressure    

    Does the value differ more than 26.7 kPa (7.9 inHg, 200 mmHg)?

    YES 

    Replace the MAP sensor .

    NO 

    Go to step 2.

  2. MAP sensor performance check 2

    -1. Note the value of MAP Sensor in the DATA LIST with the HDS.

    -2. Start the engine and let it idle.

    -3. Check the MAP Sensor in the DATA LIST with the HDS.

    Does the MAP Sensor change 0.67 kPa (0.2 inHg, 5 mmHg) or more?

    YES 

    Go to step 3.

    NO 

    Replace the MAP sensor .

  3. Problem verification

    -1. Clear the DTC with the HDS.

    -2. Start the engine. Hold the engine speed at 3, 000 rpm without load (in P or N) until the radiator fan comes on.

    -3. Test-drive the vehicle under these conditions:

    • Engine speed at 1, 700 rpm or more
    • Transmission in D
    • REL TP SENSOR above 42.2 deg
    • Drive 5 seconds or more

    -4. Monitor the OBD STATUS for DTC P2074 in the DTCs MENU with the HDS.

    Does the HDS indicate FAILED?

    YES 

    The failure is duplicated. Replace the MAP sensor .

    NO 

    If the HDS indicates PASSED, intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for poor connections or loose terminals at the MAP sensor and the PCM. If the on-board snapshot of this DTC is recorded, try to reproduce the failure under the same conditions with the on-board snapshot . If the HDS indicates NOT COMPLETED, go to step 3-2 and recheck.
