DTC P00FE (1.5 L Engine) (2020 2021)
DTC P00FE: Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Vent Line Blockage
General Description
Vent blockage is determined by the change in the internal pressure of the tank. The PCM detects a blockage of the vent line by estimating the volume of space in the evaporative emission (EVAP) system. The evaporative space volume is estimated from the pressure behavior when the EVAP canister purge valve is closed and when the pressure is reduced by the EVAP leak check module, the presence or absence of a blockage is determined. If the estimated volume is large, it is determined to be normal and when it estimated small, the PCM detects a malfunction and stores a DTC.

Malfunction Threshold
When the calculated volume of space in the EVAP system is 10.7 L (2.83 US gal) or less.
Possible Cause
NOTE: The causes shown may not be a complete list of all potential problems, and it is possible that there may be other causes.
- EVAP vent line blockage
- Vent shut float blockage
Confirmation Procedure
Operating Condition
- With an average fuel level of 85 % or less, drive the vehicle at least 10 minutes and run for 7 miles (10 km) or more. In the driving, make the vehicle at a steady speed 25 mph (40 km/h) or more for at least 5 minutes.
- Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode, and wait for at least 5 hours.
- PCM wake up, and wait at least 18 minutes 10 seconds.
- When you have difficulty duplicating the DTC because of road conditions and traffic situations, repeat the driving pattern several times.
- Drive the vehicle in this manner only if the traffic regulations and ambient conditions allow.
Diagnosis Details
Conditions for setting the DTC
When a malfunction is detected during the first drive cycle, a Pending DTC is stored in the PCM memory. If the malfunction returns in the next (second) drive cycle, the MIL comes on and a Confirmed DTC and the freeze data are stored.
Conditions for clearing the DTC
The MIL is cleared if the malfunction does not return in three consecutive trips in which the diagnostic runs. The MIL, the Pending DTC, the Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data can be cleared with the scan tool clear command or by disconnecting the 12 volt battery.
