Disassembly and Reassembly

  1. Rocker Arm Assembly - Disassemble

    NOTE: 

    • Identify each part as it is removed so that each item can be reinstalled in its original location.
    • Inspect the rocker shafts and the rocker arms.
    • If reused, the rocker arms must be installed in their original locations.
    • When replacing the rocker arm assembly, remove the fastening hardware from a new rocker arm assembly.

  2. All Disassembled Parts - Reassembly
    1. Reassemble the parts in the reverse order of disassembly.
    NOTE: 
    • If reused, the rocker arms must be installed in their original locations.
    • Prior to reassembling, clean all the parts in solvent, dry them, and apply new engine oil to all contact points and the bearing surface.
    • When replacing the rocker arm assembly, remove the fastening hardware from the new rocker arm assembly.
