Catalytic Converter Removal

Under-Floor TWC*1

Detailed information, notes and precautions
Torque: N.m (kgf.m, lbf.ft)
Replace

WU-TWC 

  1. A/F Sensor (Sensor 1) - Remove
  2. Front Engine Undercover Lid - Remove
  3. Exhaust Chamber Cover - Remove
  4. TWC Bracket - Remove

    Note for installation 

    • Before installing the TWC brackets (A), confirm the bolts and nuts fixing the TWC to the cylinder head are tightened to the specified torque.
    • Tighten the TWC bracket mounting bolts in the numbered sequence shown.
  5. TWC Assembly - Remove
  6. Under-Floor TWC - Move (Only for installation)

    1. Move the under-floor TWC leftward and tie it up with string so as not to allow it to touch the WU-TWC (A).
    NOTE: 
    • When the under-floor TWC is high temperature, be careful for thermal effect on the material and work.
    • If there is not enough clearance between the WU-TWC and the under-floor TWC, remove rubbers mounts as necessary.
  7. TWC Cover - Remove (if necessary)
  8. All Removed Parts - Install
    1. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal with new gaskets and new self-locking nuts.

    Under-Floor TWC 

  9. Engine Undercover - Remove
  10. Secondary HO2S (Sensor 2) - Remove
  11. Under-Floor TWC - Remove
  12. All Removed Parts - Install
    1. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal with new gaskets and new self-locking nuts.
