  1. Oil Seals - Install

    1. Install a new oil seal (A) even and flush with the machined edge of the differential carrier assembly using the 40 mm I.D. driver handle.
  2. 8 x 10 mm Dowel Pins - Install
  3. Rear Differential Solenoid Valve - Install
  4. Oil Pump Body Assembly - Install
  5. 32.3 mm Shim - Install
  6. 94.6 mm Shim - Install
  7. Differential Clutch Assembly - Install
  8. Baffle Cover - Install
  9. 8 x 10 mm Dowel Pins - Install
  10. Oil Pump Case - Install

    1. Remove the dirt and oil from the sealing surfaces.

    2. Apply liquid gasket (P/N 08718-0004 or 08718-0009) evenly to the sealing surface.

    3. Install the component within 5 minutes of applying the liquid gasket. Make sure you seal the entire circumference of the bolt holes to prevent fluid leakage.

    NOTE: 

    • If too much time has passed after applying the liquid gasket, remove the old liquid gasket and residue, then reapply the new liquid gasket.
    • Allow it to cure at least 30 minutes after assembly before filling the differential with recommended fluid.
  11. 8 x 10 mm Dowel Pins - Install
  12. Fluid Strainer - Install
  13. Oil Pump Cover - Install
  14. Oil Seal - Install

    1. Install a new oil seal (A) even and flush with the rear differential oil pump cover using the 40 mm I.D. driver handle.
  15. Companion Flange - Install

    1. Set the companion flange (A) to the clutch guide shaft.

    2. Drive on the companion flange using the 41.8 mm oil seal driver.

    3. Check the length of clutch guide shaft as shown.
    NOTE:  Make sure to drive on the companion flange until 2 to 3 thread pitches of the clutch guide shaft appears.

    4. Apply rear differential fluid to the used locknut.

    5. Set the used locknut to the clutch guide shaft.

    6. Install the companion flange holder and the holder handle on the companion flange.

    7. Tighten the used locknut.

    8. Remove the used locknut, the companion flange holder, and the holder handle.

    9. Check the companion flange has been set to the bottom.

  16. Back-Up Ring - Install
  17. Spring Washer - Install
  18. Locknut - Install

    1. Install the companion flange holder and the holder handle on the companion flange.

    2. Tighten the locknut to the specified torque.

    3. Stake the locknut tab (A) into the groove in the clutch guide shaft.
  19. Pump Drive Joint - Install (For Some Models)
  20. Rear Differential Pump Motor - Install
  21. Rear Differential Solenoid Valve Connector Assembly - Install
  22. Rear Differential Fluid Pressure Sensor - Install
  23. Rear Differential Fluid Temperature Sensor - Install
  24. Sensor Cover - Install
  25. Drain Plug - Install
  26. Filler Plug - Install
  27. Harness Bracket D - Install
  28. Harness Bracket B - Install
  29. Harness Bracket A - Install
  30. Rear Differential Harness - Install
  31. Rear Differential Front Mount - Install
