VSA Modulator-Control Unit Removal and Installation: Installation

NOTE: 

  1. VSA Modulator-Control Unit Bracket - Install

    1. Install the VSA modulator-control unit (A) to the modulator sub bracket (B).

    2. Install the modulator bracket (C) to the modulator sub bracket.

    1. Install the VSA modulator-control unit (A) with the bracket (B).

    2. Install the brake line (C) to the brake line clamp (D).

    3. Align the connecting surface of the VSA modulator-control unit connector (A).

    4. Pull down the lever (B) of the VSA modulator-control unit connector, then confirm the connector is fully seated.

    5. Connect the brake lines.
    NOTE: Brake lines are connected to the master cylinder (A), the right-rear (B), the left-front (C), the right-front (D), and the left-rear (E) brake systems.
  3. 12 Volt Battery Terminal - Connect
  4. Brake System- Bleed
  5. Immobilizer System - Register

    NOTE: 

    • When replacing the VSA modulator-control unit, do the immobilizer system registration.
    • Failure to complete the immobilizer system registration will lead to a no-start condition the next time the 12 volt battery is disconnected.

    Without keyless access system 

    1. Do the immobilizer system registration procedure .

    With keyless access system 

    1. Do the keyless access system registration procedure .

  6. VSA Modulator-Control Unit Software - Check
    1. Make sure the VSA modulator-control unit has the latest software. If it does not have the latest, update the software in the VSA modulator-control unit .
  7. VSA Modulator-Control Unit After Install - Check
    1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    2. Apply and release the parking brake 2 times, then make sure that the brake system indicator (red) goes OFF.

    NOTE:

    If the brake system indicator (red) does not go OFF, check for poor connection at the VSA modulator-control unit connector.

    3. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

  8. VSA Sensor Neutral Position - Memorize
  9. TPMS - Calibrate
