DTC U0418-F8 (VSA Control Unit) (2020 2021)

DTC U0418-F8  : Plausibility Brake Pedal Signal (EBB) vs. Pressure Sensor

NOTE: Before you troubleshoot, review the general troubleshooting information .

DTC (VSA)

1. Problem verification

   -1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

   -2. Clear the DTC with the HDS.

   -3. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode, then start the engine.

   -4. Wait 1 second or more without pressing the brake pedal.

   -5. Press the brake pedal hard for 1 second or more.

   -6. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

   U0418-F8 Plausibility Brake Pedal Signal (EBB) vs. Pressure Sensor

   Is DTC U0418-F8 indicated?

   YES 

   The failure is duplicated. Go to step 2.

   NO 

   Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Refer to intermittent failures troubleshooting .

2. Electric brake booster system DTC check

   -1. Check for electric brake booster system DTCs with the HDS.

   C1C02-11 Brake Pedal Stroke Sensor Signal Circuit1 Short To Ground

   C1C02-15 Brake Pedal Stroke Sensor Signal Circuit1 Short To Battery or Open
   C1C03-11 Brake Pedal Stroke Sensor Signal Circuit 2 Short To Ground
   C1C03-15 Brake Pedal Stroke Sensor Signal Circuit 2 Short To Battery or Open
   C1C04-11 Brake Pedal Stroke Sensor Power Circuit Short To Ground or Battery

   Is DTC indicated?

   YES 

   Go to indicated DTCs troubleshooting.

   NO 

   Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Refer to intermittent failures troubleshooting .
