1. Remove the front seal (A) from the front edge of the quarter glass (B). If necessary, cut the front seal with a utility knife. 2. If the original quarter glass (A) will be reinstalled, make alignment marks (B) across the glass and the body with a grease pencil over the quarter glass molding (C). 3. Apply protective tape along the inside and outside edges of the body. From the pillar side of the vehicle, to cut the adhesive (A) with a utility knife (B). 4. Pass a piano wire (A) from the inside of the vehicle at the place where the corner portion of the quarter glass ends, and wrap each end around a piece of wood. 5. Pull the piano wire back and forth in a sawing motion.
6. Repeat these procedure, cut through the rubber dam and the adhesive (B) of the quarter glass.
NOTE:- If the quarter glass will be reinstalled, take care not to damage the molding.
- If the molding is damaged, replace the quarter glass, the molding, and the clips as an assembly.
7. Carefully remove the quarter glass with suction cups.
8. If a new quarter glass will be installed, remove the clips from the body.
9. Scrape the original adhesive smooth to a thickness of about 1 mm (0.04 in) - 2 mm (0.08 in) on the bonding surface around the entire quarter glass opening flange with a putty knife.
NOTE: Do not scrape down to the painted surface of the body; damaged paint will interfere with proper bonding.
