Inspect the connector and socket terminals to be sure they are all making good contact:

With the connectors still disconnected, do the following input tests:

Cavity Wire Test condition Test: Desired result Possible cause if desired result is not obtained
13 TAN Disconnect panoramic glass roof motor-control unit 14P connector Check for continuity between terminal No. 13 and panoramic glass roof motor-control unit 14P connector terminal No. 13: There should be continuity An open in the SUNSHADE CONTL wire
Check for continuity to ground: There should be no continuity. A short to ground in the SUNSHADE CONTL wire

Reconnect the connector, and do the following input tests:

Cavity Wire Test condition Test: Desired result Possible cause if desired result is not obtained
1 YEL Under all conditions Measure the voltage to ground: There should be battery voltage. An open or high resistance in the wire
Cavity Wire Test condition Test: Desired result Possible cause if desired result is not obtained
4 BLK In all power modes Measure the voltage to ground: There should be less than 0.2 V.
  • Poor ground (G401)
  • An open or high resistance in the ground wire
9 YEL Vehicle ON mode, power sunshade switch in CLOSE position Measure the voltage to ground: There should be less than 0.2 V.
  • Faulty power sunshade switch
  • Poor ground (G401) or an open in the ground wire
  • An open or high resistance in the wire
Vehicle ON mode, power sunshade switch released Measure the voltage to ground: There should be battery voltage.
  • Faulty power sunshade switch
  • A short to ground in the wire
7 PNK Vehicle ON mode, power sunshade switch in OPEN position Measure the voltage to ground: There should be less than 0.2 V.
14 BRN Vehicle ON mode, power sunshade switch in AUTO (OPEN) or AUTO (CLOSE) position Measure the voltage to ground: There should be less than 0.2 V.
