Power Mirrors (Power Window Master Switch) Input Test

NOTE: 

1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

2. Disconnect the power window master switch 37P connector.

Inspect the connector and socket terminals to be sure they are all making good contact:

With the connector still disconnected, do the following input tests:

Cavity Wire Test condition Test: Desired result Possible cause if desired result is not obtained
10 PNK Vehicle ON mode, power mirror switch in RIGHT mirror position Measure the voltage to ground: There should be battery voltage when the power mirror switch LEFT or DOWN is pressed.
  • Faulty power mirror switch
  • An open or high resistance in the wire
11 RED Vehicle ON mode, power mirror switch in RIGHT mirror position Measure the voltage to ground: There should be battery voltage when the power mirror switch RIGHT or DOWN is pressed.
  • Faulty power mirror switch
  • An open or high resistance in the wire
12 GRY Vehicle ON mode Measure the voltage to ground: There should be battery voltage when the power mirror switch UP or LEFT is pressed.
  • Faulty power mirror switch
  • An open or high resistance in the wire
15* 1 PNK Vehicle ON mode, connect terminals No. 18 and No. 15 with a jumper wire Check the left power mirror defogger operation: The left power mirror defogger should work (the inside lower edge becomes warm).
  • Faulty left power mirror defogger
  • Poor ground (G401) or an open in the ground wire
  • An open or high resistance in the wire

*1: With mirror defogger

*2: With panoramic glass roof

*3: With moonroof

Cavity Wire Test condition Test: Desired result Possible cause if desired result is not obtained
30 PNK Vehicle ON mode, connect terminals No. 18 and No. 30 with a jumper wire Check the power mirror switch light operation: The power mirror switch light should come on.
  • Faulty LED
  • Faulty power mirror switch
  • Poor ground (G401) or an open in the ground wire
  • An open or high resistance in the wire
36 BLU Disconnect these connectors:
  • Front passenger's power window switch 37P connector
  • Panoramic glass roof motor-control unit 14P connector* 2
  • Moonroof motor-control unit 14P connector* 3
Check for continuity between terminal No. 36 and front passenger's power window switch 37P connector terminal No. 34: There should be continuity. An open in the LIN(P/W) wire
Check for continuity between terminal No. 36 and panoramic glass roof motor-control unit 14P connector terminal No. 12: There should be continuity. An open in the LINP/W) wire
Check for continuity between terminal No. 36 and moonroof motor-control unit 14P connector terminal No. 12: There should be continuity. An open in the LIN(P/W) wire
Check for continuity to ground: There should be no continuity. A short to ground in the LIN(P/W) wire

*1: With mirror defogger

*2: With panoramic glass roof

*3: With moonroof

Reconnect the connector, and do the following input tests:

NOTE:  After replacing the power window master switch, do the resetting the power window control unit .

Cavity Wire Test condition Test: Desired result Possible cause if desired result is not obtained
4 WHT Under all conditions Measure the voltage to ground: There should be battery voltage. An open or high resistance in the wire
18 LT GRN Vehicle ON mode Measure the voltage to ground: There should be battery voltage. An open or high resistance in the wire
3 BLK In all power modes Measure the voltage to ground: There should be less than 0.2 V.
  • Poor ground (G401)
  • An open or high resistance in the ground wire
29 BLK In all power modes Measure the voltage to ground: There should be less than 0.2 V.
  • Poor ground (G401)
  • An open or high resistance in the ground wire
