Power Relay Test: Test

  1. Power Relay - Test

    Use this chart to identify the types of the relay, then do the test listed for it.

    Relay  Test 
    A/C compressor clutch relay Normally-open four-terminals type
    A/C condenser fan relay
    Auxiliary transmission fluid pump relay
    Cargo area accessory power socket relay
    Console accessory power socket relay
    DC-DC converter ACC relay
    DC-DC converter IG1 relay 1
    DC-DC converter IG1 relay 2
    Front accessory power socket relay
    Front blower motor relay
    Front fog light relay
    Heated steering wheel relay
    Heated windshield wiper area relay
    Horn relay
    Injector relay
    PGM-FI main relay 2
    Power window relay
    Radiator fan relay
    Rear seat heater relay
    Rear window defogger relay
    ACC cut relay Five-terminal type
    Fan control relay
    IG2 cut relay

    Normally-Open Four-Terminal Type 

    Check for continuity between the terminals:

    • There should be continuity between terminals No. 1 and No. 2 when battery power is connected to terminal No. 3, and battery ground is connected to terminal No. 4.
    • There should be no continuity between terminals No. 1 and No. 2 when battery power is disconnected.

    Five-Terminal Type 

    Check for continuity between the terminals:

    • There should be continuity between terminals No. 1 and No. 2 when battery power is connected to terminal No. 3, and battery ground is connected to terminal No. 5.
    • There should be continuity between terminals No. 1 and No. 4 when battery power is disconnected.
