Self-Diagnostic Function

The BSI system has a self-diagnostic function. If the self-diagnostic function detects a malfunction, the BSI system stops operating. The BSI indicator comes on, and the BSI system indicates "Blind Spot Info System Problem" on the MID.

When mud, dirt, wet snow, leaves, or other foreign material sticks to the side of the rear bumper, the BSI system stops operating and the message on the MID indicates that the BSI radar units must be cleaned. It also turns on the BSI indicator at the same time, and stores the DTC (s).

When the obstruction or contamination is removed, the indicator on the MID goes off and the BSI system automatically returns to ON.
