Set speed does not cancel when the brake pedal is pressed (Cruise Control)

Diagnostic procedure 

• Do the brake pedal position switch test .
• Do the cruise control input test . Test the brake pedal position switch signal input.
• Check the PGM-FI system .

Also check for 

• Faulty brake pedal position switch
• An open in the wire between the PCM and the brake pedal position switch
• A wire shorted to ground or power between the PCM and the brake pedal position switch
