ACC Combination Switch Removal, Installation, and Test: Test

  1. ACC Combination Switch - Test

    1. Measure the resistance between the ACC combination switch 12P connector (male terminals) terminals No. 5 and No. 6 according to the chart.
    • If there is no resistance in one or more positions, replace the ACC combination switch.

    2. Measure the resistance between the ACC combination switch 12P connector (male terminals) terminals No. 5 and No. 12 according to the chart.

    • If there is no resistance in one or more positions, replace the ACC combination switch.
    Position Resistance
    OFF (Released) About 2.2 kΩ
    DISTANCE (Pressed and held) About 450 Ω
    Position Resistance
    OFF (Released) About 2.2 kΩ
    MAIN (Pressed and held) About 60 Ω
    CANCEL (Pressed and held) About 190 Ω
    SET - (Pressed and held) About 450 Ω
    RES + (Pressed and held) About 900 Ω

    3. Check the LED for illumination when connecting battery power and ground to the switch terminals according to the chart.
    NOTE: Note this important operating characteristic; diode bias causes a diode to fully conduct electricity in one direction (forward), while not at all in the opposite direction (reverse).If the results are not as specified, replace the ACC combination switch.
