DTC U0047-00 (CAN Gateway)

DTC U0047-00  : CAN Gateway F-CAN ch B Bus Off

NOTE:

DTC Description DTC
U0047-00 CAN Gateway F-CAN ch B Bus Off  

DTC (CAN gateway)

  1. Problem verification

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    -2. Clear the DTC with the HDS.

    -3. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -4. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, and wait 6 seconds.

    -5. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

    U0047-00 CAN Gateway F-CAN ch B Bus Off  

    Is DTC U0047-00 indicated?

    YES 

    Go to step 2.

    NO 

    Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.

  2. Shorted unit check (PCM)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -2. Jump the SCS line with the HDS, and wait more than 1 minute.

    -3. Disconnect the following connector.

    PCM connector A (50P)

    -4. Exit the SCS mode with the HDS.

    -5. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    -6. Clear the DTC with the HDS.

    -7. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -8. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, and wait 6 seconds.

    -9. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

    Is DTC U0047-00 indicated?

    YES 

    Go to step 3.

    NO 

    Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting, or substitute a known-good PCM .

  3. Shorted unit check (VSA modulator-control unit)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -2. Disconnect the following connector.

    VSA modulator-control unit 46P connector

    -3. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    -4. Clear the DTC with the HDS.

    -5. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -6. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, and wait 6 seconds.

    -7. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

    Is DTC U0047-00 indicated?

    YES 

    Go to step 4.

    NO 

    Replace the VSA modulator-control unit .

  4. Shorted unit check (ANC/active sound control unit)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -2. Disconnect the following connector.

    ANC/active sound control unit 20P connector

    -3. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    -4. Clear the DTC with the HDS.

    -5. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -6. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, and wait 6 seconds.

    -7. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

    Is DTC U0047-00 indicated?

    YES 

    Go to step 5.

    NO 

    Substitute a known-good ANC/active sound control unit .

  5. Shorted unit check (audio-navigation unit *1 audio unit *2):-1.

    Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -2. Disconnect the following connector.

    Audio-navigation unit *1 Audio unit *2 connector E (16P)

    -3. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    -4. Clear the DTC with the HDS.

    -5. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -6. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, and wait 6 seconds.

    -7. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

    U0047-00 CAN Gateway F-CAN ch B Bus Off  

    Is DTC U0047-00 indicated?

    YES 

    Go to step 6.

    NO 

    Substitute a known-good audio unit .

  6. Shorted unit check (SRS unit)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -2. Disconnect the following connector.

    SRS unit connector A (39P)

    -3. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    -4. Clear the DTC with the HDS.

    -5. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -6. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, and wait 6 seconds.

    -7. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

    Is DTC U0047-00 indicated?

    YES 

    Go to step 7.

    NO 

    Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting, or substitute a known-good SRS unit .

  7. Shorted unit check (EPS control unit)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -2. Disconnect the following connector.

    EPS control unit connector B (6P)

    -3. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    -4. Clear the DTC with the HDS.

    -5. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -6. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, and wait 6 seconds.

    -7. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

    Is DTC U0047-00 indicated?

    YES 

    Go to step 8.

    NO 

    Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting, or substitute a known-good EPS control unit .

  8. Shorted unit check (electric brake booster)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode with driver's door open, then wait 3 minutes.

    NOTE:  Do not close the driver's door.

    -2. Disconnect the following connector.

    Electric brake booster 26P connector

    -3. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    -4. Clear the DTC with the HDS.

    -5. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -6. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, and wait 6 seconds.

    -7. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

    Is DTC U0047-00 indicated?

    YES 

    Go to step 9.

    NO 

    Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting, or replace the electric brake booster .

  9. Shorted unit check (real time AWD control unit)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -2. Disconnect the following connector.

    Real time AWD control unit 24P connector

    -3. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    -4. Clear the DTC with the HDS.

    -5. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -6. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, and wait 6 seconds.

    -7. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

    Is DTC U0047-00 indicated?

    YES 

    Go to step 10.

    NO 

    Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting, or substitute a known-good real time AWD control unit .

  10. Shorted unit check (multipurpose camera unit)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -2. Disconnect the following connector.

    Multipurpose camera unit 12P connector

    -3. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    -4. Clear the DTC with the HDS.

    -5. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -6. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, and wait 6 seconds.

    -7. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

    Is DTC U0047-00 indicated?

    YES 

    Go to step 11.

    NO 

    Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting, or substitute a known-good multipurpose camera unit .

  11. Shorted unit check (millimeter wave radar)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -2. Disconnect the following connector.

    Millimeter wave radar 8P connector

    -3. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

    -4. Clear the DTC with the HDS.

    -5. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -6. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, and wait 6 seconds.

    -7. Check for DTCs with the HDS.

    Is DTC U0047-00 indicated?

    YES 

    Go to step 12.

    NO 

    Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting, or substitute a known-good millimeter wave radar .

  12. Shorted wire check (F-CAN B_H line)

    -1. Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.

    -2. Disconnect the following connector.

    CAN gateway 12P (16P)* connector

    -3. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
    PCM connector A (50P): disconnected
    VSA modulator-control unit 46P connector: disconnected
    ANC/active sound control unit 20P connector: disconnected
    Audio-navigation unit *1 Audio unit *2 connector E (16P): disconnected
    SRS unit connector A (39P): disconnected
    EPS control unit connector B (6P): disconnected
    Electric brake booster 26P connector: disconnected
    Real time AWD control unit 24P connector: disconnected
    Multipurpose camera unit 12P connector: disconnected
    Millimeter wave radar 8P connector: disconnected
      CAN gateway 12P (16P)* connector: disconnected
    Test point 1 CAN gateway 12P connector (female terminal) No. 12: CAN gateway 16P connector (female terminals) No. 6: *
    Test point 2 Body ground

    Is there 1 MΩ or more?

    YES 

    Go to step 13.

    NO 

    Repair a short in the F-CAN B_H wire between the CAN gateway and the connected units.

  13. Shorted wire check (F-CAN B_L line)

    -1. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
    PCM connector A (50P): disconnected
    VSA modulator-control unit 46P connector: disconnected
    ANC/active sound control unit 20P connector: disconnected
    Audio-navigation unit *1 Audio unit *2 connector E (16P): disconnected
    SRS unit connector A (39P): disconnected
    EPS control unit connector B (6P): disconnected
    Electric brake booster 26P connector: disconnected
    Real time AWD control unit 24P connector: disconnected
    Multipurpose camera unit 12P connector: disconnected
    Millimeter wave radar 8P connector: disconnected
    CAN gateway 12P (16P)* connector: disconnected
    Test point 1 CAN gateway 12P connector (female terminal) No. 5: CAN gateway 16P connector (female terminals) No. 14: *
    Test point 2 Body ground

    Is there 1 MΩ or more?

    YES 

    Go to step 14.

    NO 

    Repair a short in the F-CAN B_L wire between the CAN gateway and the connected units.

  14. Shorted wire check (F-CAN B_H line to F-CAN B_L line)

    -1. Measure the resistance between test points 1 and 2.

    Test condition Vehicle OFF (LOCK) mode
    PCM connector A (50P): disconnected
    VSA modulator-control unit 46P connector: disconnected
    ANC/active sound control unit 20P connector: disconnected
    Audio-navigation unit *1 Audio unit *2 connector E (16P): disconnected
    SRS unit connector A (39P): disconnected
    EPS control unit connector B (6P): disconnected
    Electric brake booster 26P connector: disconnected
    Real time AWD control unit 24P connector: disconnected
    Multipurpose camera unit 12P connector: disconnected
    Millimeter wave radar 8P connector: disconnected
    CAN gateway 12P (16P)* connector: disconnected
    Test point 1 CAN gateway 12P connector (female terminal) No. 5: CAN gateway 16P connector (female terminals) No. 14: *

    Is there 1 MΩ or more?

    YES 

    Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting, or substitute a known-good real time CAN gateway .

    NO 

    Repair a short in the F-CAN B_H wire to the F-CAN B_L wire between CAN gateway terminals No. 5 and No. 12 (No. 6 and No. 14)*.
