AWD system indicator does not go off, and no DTCs are stored

NOTE:  Do not jump the SCS line.

  1. Problem verification

-1. Test the 12 volt battery . Charge or replace the 12 volt battery if necessary.

-2. Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.

Does the AWD system indicator come on?

    YES

The failure is duplicated. Go to step 2.

    NO

Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time.

  2. HDS communication check

-1. Check that the HDS communicates with the vehicle.

Does the HDS communicate with the vehicle?

    YES

The HDS communication is OK. Go to step 3.

    NO

Go to the DLC circuit troubleshooting .

  3. Real time AWD system communication check

-1. Check the Main Menu of the REAL TIME AWD with the HDS.

Does the HDS show the Main Menu of the REAL TIME AWD?

    YES

The real time AWD system communication is OK. Go to step 4.

    NO

Go to the real time AWD system symptom troubleshooting for HDS does not communicate .

  4. AWD control unit status check 1

-1. Check the parameter (s) below with the HDS.

    Signal Threshold Current conditions
    Values Unit Values Unit
    Longitudinal G sensor learning Complete
Air purge for rear differential Complete
    AWD operation check Complete

Do the current condition (s) match the threshold?

    YES

    Go to step 5.

    NO

    Go to step 7.

  5. Gauge control module operation check

-1. Do the gauge control module self-diagnostic function .

Does the AWD system indicator blinkΩ

    YES

The gauge control module is OK. Go to step 6.

    NO

Replace the gauge control module .

  6. Gauge control module DTC check

-1. Check for DTCs in the METER system with the HDS.

    DTC Description DTC

    Is DTC indicated?

    YES

Go to the indicated DTC's troubleshooting in the gauge control module.

    NO

Check for any authorized service information related to the DTCs or symptoms you are troubleshooting or substitute a known-good AWD control unit , and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away with a known-good AWD control unit, replace the original AWD control unit .

  7. AWD control unit status check 2

-1. Check the parameter (s) below with the HDS.

    Signal Threshold Current conditions
    Values Unit Values Unit
    Longitudinal G sensor learning Incomplete
Air purge for rear differential Incomplete
    AWD operation check Incomplete

Do the current condition (s) match the threshold?

Longitudinal G sensor learning is incomplete

Do the G SENSOR LEARNING in the ADJUSTMENT with the HDS.

Air purge for rear differential is incomplete

Do the ECU REPLACEMENT in the ADJUSTMENT with the HDS.

    AWD operation check is incomplete

Do the ECU REPLACEMENT in the ADJUSTMENT with the HDS.
