Anti-Theft Feature (With audio system theft protection)
The audio unit has an anti-theft protection circuit. When one of the following occurs, the unit enters the anti-theft mode:
- Disconnecting the 12 volt battery terminal.
- Disconnecting audio unit connector A (24P).
- Removing the +B line's fuses.
After the service, reconnect power to the audio unit, and turn the vehicle to the ON mode. There are two ways to exit the anti-theft mode:
- Press and hold the AUDIO POWER (
) button for at least 2 seconds. The audio unit automatically exits the anti-theft mode. If the audio unit does not exit anti-theft mode, turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode then the ON mode (if possible, start the engine), and try to release the anti-theft several times.
- Enter the 5-digit anti-theft code. If the input of code fails 10 times in a row, the screen is locked for 60 minutes.
When the audio unit is installed in another vehicle (same Year/Model/Trim), like in cases where a known-good unit was substituted for testing, do the Anti-Theft Skip mode in the System Diagnostic Mode (display audio type) , or do the Anti-Theft Temporary Cancellation in the System Diagnostic Mode (color audio type) . These mode will release the anti-theft code for 150 seconds.
